Urban Climate Resilience Specialist
IDG is recruiting for a Mid-Level or Senior Urban Climate Resilience Specialist to provide technical assistance on a project in Mexico, with availability for quick deployment. The expert should have substantial experience in renewable energies and microgrids and would provide their expertise on one or more technical activities for a client.
Responsibilities
The Urban Climate Resilience Specialist will conduct the following:
Review technical documents provided by the client and provide recommendations.
Conduct research and draft reports as needed
Provide recommendations to the client for technical activities to address identified key constraints.
Provide expertise in one or more of the following areas specifically related to renewable energies and microgrids:
Market and cost-benefit analysis.
Climate adaptation strategies.
Training and capacity-building.
Regulatory environment.
Identify key stakeholders associated with the technical activities and engage with them to build relationships.
Occasional travel and on-site activities could take place to facilitate support and/or research.
Qualifications
A Bachelor degree in a related field required. Advanced degree preferred.
At least five years of relevant professional experience required, at least 12 years of experience preferred.
Prior experience working with donors such as the U.S. Agency for International Development, Millenium Challenge Corporation, Department for International Development, etc. preferred.
Extensive technical experience in urban climate resilience.
Technical experience in or more of the following areas required;
Market and cost-benefit analysis.
Climate adaptation strategies.
Training and capacity-building.
Regulatory environment.
Prior experience conducting stakeholder analysis and ability to establish and strengthen relationships with stakeholders.
